TGL Tested: How We Get Inspired

TGL Tested is our series exploring the newest and trendiest digital marketing tools for tasks like video editing, email marketing, and website design. Over the past year, we've tested these tools so you don't have to—helping you figure out what’s worth trying and what can be skipped.

This month, we’re closing out the series with a very special installment. As the final TGL Tested of the year, we’re shifting gears to reflect on how we stay inspired in the digital marketing world. From favorite resources to creative rituals, this one’s less about the tools we use and more about the mindset we cultivate. Here are the lessons, practices, and habits that help keep our team motivated and creative.

How Our Marketing Squad Gets Inspired

Senior Project Manager, Renee Tate

“My go-to place for marketing inspiration is browsing my favorite brand's social media accounts. I like to see what they are doing differently and how they message themselves. I also look at the trends they jump on to see how different industries participate. If I am in need of copy or messaging inspiration, I check out Very Good Copy, which is a website and newsletter that share amazing pieces of copy from well-known copywriters. I also love Good Email Copy as well, which is a website that collects emails from well-known brands. They have emails for a number of topics, and it's cool to see how different brands are engaging with their audiences and getting inspired to do the same with my own audience.”

Freelance Writer and Editor, Rebecca Coates

“Scrolling my social feeds, particularly for my clients’ industries, helps jog my brain to get inspired with new ideas. I also follow a lot of digital marketing influencers like Pretty Little Marketer and Girls in Marketing for their hot takes on current trends and tools. And, lastly, stepping away from my screen is huge in clearing my brain of digital clutter. I get a lot of my best social media writing ideas while I’m taking my daily walks! (should I charge for that time? Ha!)”

Slice Author and Social Media Coordinator, Jade Martin

“Whenever I’m feeling stuck or uninspired, team meetings are my go-to reset. Hearing insights and ideas from my coworkers not only sparks my creativity but also reminds me that I’m part of something bigger. Collaborating and sharing ideas during meetings helps me break out of creative blocks and keeps me motivated. On the resource side, I love scrolling through TikTok and Instagram Reels to see how other brands are promoting themselves. I’ve even created saved folders on both apps to organize videos to see how other brands experiment with trends and storytelling.”

As we close out this series, we want to thank you for coming along on this journey with us. Exploring the tools and practices that shape our work has been a labor of love, and we hope these insights have inspired and empowered your own marketing adventures.

While this is the last installment of TGL Tested, our commitment to sharing valuable tips and lessons isn’t going anywhere.
