“I love signing up for email newsletters and networking groups as they tend to send invites to events, webinars, and even share tutorial guides. My favorite newsletters I've recently signed up for are Zapier's newsletter, Freelancing Females, Asana Newsletter, Sprout Social, Later, Buffer, and, of course, TGL's newsletter Fresh Squeezed. I love getting insights from numerous sources and especially from platforms that I use often. Since many of these platforms integrate with other software, they tend to provide a nice roundup of information without me having to hunt for it. Makes learning new skills and staying updated on the latest in my field so much easier.”
We Read Blogs
Blogs are an invaluable resource for learning new skills, especially in this fast-paced industry. They offer detailed, up-to-date information directly from industry leaders and platform creators, helping you stay on top of trends and strategies. Blogs are also a great way to dig deeper into specific tools or platforms, providing guides, case studies, and real-world examples to enhance your understanding.
A good blog will not only highlight what’s current in the digital world but also offer actionable insights to fine-tune analytics and optimize strategies. If you’re looking for a way to stay informed and sharpen your skills, following a variety of industry blogs is a must.

“My go-to resource is reading the news from multiple sources and diving into social media directly. The best way to truly understand what people are thinking and feeling is to listen to what they're saying. When it comes to spotting trends, there’s no substitute for being actively engaged with the platforms you're working on and staying tuned into the topic de jour. That said, keeping up with analytics and performance metrics is a different story. Most platforms for tracking engagement come with great blogs and resources to help interpret the numbers and optimize your strategy.”
We Stay Tuned-In to YouTube
YouTube is a go-to platform for learning new skills, offering an endless supply of free, accessible tutorials and how-to guides for virtually any topic. From mastering the basics to exploring advanced techniques, YouTube videos provide visual, step-by-step instructions that make complex concepts easier to grasp. The platform’s diversity of creators ensures there’s content tailored to every learning style and skill level.
It helps that not only is the video itself helpful, but in the comments section you can find a community of people who are after the same skillset as you, as well as a video description that can include helpful links
YouTube is the ultimate free classroom for marketers. With tutorials on everything from basic design to advanced analytics, there's a wealth of knowledge available for every skill level.

“A good YouTube video has always been my go-to for learning something new. When I first started using Canva, this video was extremely helpful in introducing me to all the useful features it has to offer. If you’re a visual/auditory learner, YouTube is a great place to start learning. There are tons of videos out there! All you have to do is type your question in the search box and there will be multiple options to choose from.”
