Just Simply… Cuisine is Washington DC’s best-kept food secret! Founded by Chris Coppola Leibner, Washington-area home cooks sign up for classes to enhance their skills, learn new recipes, and spend time with Chris in her home kitchen.
Chris came to The Good Lemon with the idea to create a new DC-centric “foodcast” to share her passion for sourcing and cooking food close to home with a wider audience, no matter where they live.
Chris wanted to know: is a podcast a good idea, and is it possible? And if so, how can we make it happen? She needed a plan to create and disseminate it to her network of current and former students, apprentices, and a wider audience in DC and beyond.
The Good Lemon worked with Chris to design a first season of the Just Simply… Cuisine podcast, called We’re Cookin’,
Together with Chris, we selected and booked potential guests from her large network in the DC food scene. Episodes included tips on sourcing excellent ingredients and cooking high-quality meals, interviews with food vendors and industry veterans in DC, and engaging and inspiring stories from Chris and her staff. We put together the professional sound equipment needed and conducted high-quality recordings in Chris’ home and during classes.
Working with Jesse Graglia of SoundMind Productions, we recorded, edited and produced 10 complete episodes for distribution via iTunes, Stitcher and LibSyn, including music and sponsorships from Capital Wine School, American Kitchen Cookware, and Veteran Compost. We created an email newsletter via Mailchimp and developed graphics and other materials for promotion to Just Simply… Cuisine’s network via social media and on the website.
After a successful launch and first season, Just Simply… Cuisine is now considering a potential second season to be produced later this year.
- 10 episodes recorded and produced, featuring 12 guests and co-host Radell Peischler
